History Comes Alive

Today our grade 7s travelled to Macaulay House in Picton to experience life as a loyalist.  They learned about growing various crops, they made old fashioned toys and played traditional games, they toured rooms to see how people lived in the 1830s, and they made soup over a fire in the kitchen fireplace.  It was a morning packed full of learning, which was followed by an afternoon of adventure.  In small groups the students searched for geocaches spread across town.  Congratulations to everyone for reading their map and completing the challenge. A special congratulations to the students who won prizes for Most Remarkable Player, Most Charming and Winsome Group, and Group with the Most Pictures of Churches!
