Make a Difference in Our Community

Today we had a speaker visit our Destinations classes to speak about Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia. She spoke about the symptoms of these diseases, and how we can help families as they cope with these challenges.  In 15 years, it is predicted that 937 000 people in Canada will be living with Dementia.  It’s time to make a difference.  Destinations students and families are invited to help lead cheering, warm ups, face painting, etc. at this year’s walk on Sunday, May 28th at West Zwick’s Park (near the Lion’s Pavilion) in Belleville.  The walk starts at 10 a.m., but volunteers are welcome to arrive around 9 or 9:30 a.m.  To find out more, click here.

Just a reminder that all Destinations students will be attending the Hoops for Heart activities at HJC tomorrow (Tuesday).  We will be leaving MSS at 9:30 a.m., and are expecting to return just before dismissal time.  Students are reminded to dress for physical activity, and to bring a packed lunch.  We are still accepting donations for Heart and Stroke.  Please bring donations in tomorrow.  Thank you for supporting this important cause.
