Next Week’s Details

The big event is finally here!  On Monday morning we leave for Quebec.  Here are some reminders that we covered in today’s meeting.

Packing:

  • -Pack in two bags (one that is small that allows you to carry things during the day, like a water bottle, money, etc., and one that gets left in the hotel room that carries items like toiletries and clothing).  The hotel bag will not be accessible during the day, so things like jackets must be in the bag that you are carrying during the day.
  • -Students should also pack for all weather.  Layers are encouraged, and proper footwear for lots of walking.  Currently the forecast is rainy and cool.
  • -If students choose to bring electronics, those electronics are their responsibility.  Use of electronics must follow school rules, or electronics will be confiscated and kept with the supervising teachers.
  • -Students need to bring a packed lunch on the first day (as always, food must be nut free), and money for a meal on the way home.  Money for souvenirs is optional; students must be responsible for their own money.

Additional details:

-Please arrive at the MSS front doors by 6:45 a.m. We will be leaving by 7:00 a.m.  We highly recommend using the washroom before leaving your house in the morning.

-Code of behaviour on trips matches the code of behaviour at school.

Finally, HJC track and field is scheduled for Thursday, May 11th.  Students are reminded to dress for the weather (sunscreen, hat, warmer clothing if the forecast is chilly, etc.).  They also need proper footwear and a water bottle.  They may purchase lunch at the canteen (not the MSS cafeteria), or may bring a packed lunch.  The rain date for track and field is Friday, May 12th.
